Here is the link to an interesting article from NaturalNews.com claiming that a healthy diet and consumption of fish oil can reduce the risk of breast cancer.

I am developing this blog for those who are fighting a serious illness, or have been in a serious accident, or are facing other extreme life challenges. It will be a collection of information and resources that will, I hope, make managing these difficult issues a bit easier. If you know of a resource that might benefit someone who is ill or injured, or their families, please share it. Please check the blog archives if you are looking for specific information.

MoreBirthdays.com
A blurb from the website:
The movement for more birthdays
For nearly 100 years, the American Cancer Society has been working to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. And we can't do it without your help. The movement for more birthdays is about everyday people, just like you, coming together to make a difference. This year more than 11 million cancer survivors will celebrate another birthday, thanks in part to the progress we've already made. But we can't stop there. With every person who joins the movement, we can get closer to the day when cancer never steals another year from someone’s life. It all starts by helping people stay well and get well, and by finding cures and fighting back. Join the movement

Human Tribe Project
As quoted from the Human Tribe Project website's home page:
Here's how you help your friend in need. Whether it's cancer, a transplant, an accident or any crisis really, your friend needs support and this is where you give it. Create a free Tribe Page, email the people you know will care, build support and help your friend pay the bills.
I found the Human Tribe Project online after receiving the news that my friend had been diagnosed with breast cancer. As stated above, one can create a "tribe" page, for yourself, or someone else. You can invite people to join the "tribe." All of that is free. The group encourages tribe members to purchase "team tags," necklaces of stainless steel or silver. 75% of the cost is collected, and a check is sent monthly to the designated person. The other 25% goes to the creators of the website.
The person for whom the site is created is able to contact all "tribe members" through the website, and keep them up to speed with medical appointments, progress, what have you. Tribe members are able to leave inspirational messages in the "guest book."
My friend found this to be a good resource for her and her family.
