ConKerr Cancer

Sewing Mamas (.com) is encouraging its members to sew for charity by hosting an "east/west" content. The contest is just for fun, just to add incentive. So I've joined in. One of the charities listed on the website is ConKerr Cancer, an organization devoted to providing kids who are battling cancer with pillow cases that are fun and comforting. Even with my limited sewing time, I find that I can make pillowcases to donate. I just found out about the organization and I've already made one. So I want to share this with you all. If you sew, these are very easy to put together. The instructions are on the website. There are loads of drop-off locations around the country, and they're listed on the website. If you don't sew, it's easy to help out in other ways. Donate some fabric. Donate money. Help collection sites to organize the pillowcase for distribution. Become a coordinator for your area. And so on. I have offered, though Facebook, to sew up any fabric given to me, and have already gotten one donation. Seems so easy to give in this way.

Angels For Hope

Angels For Hope

Angels for Hope is a nonprofit organization that offers free crocheted angels for anyone in need of hope.
We attach a small card to the Angel to say to an injured or ill person, you are not alone, others do care, and you are in our thoughts and prayers.
At your request we can let it be known that you requested the item.
In addition to crocheted Angels, we also offer butterflies and smiley faces

Chemo Angels

How the program works...

Chemo Angels is a program dedicated to supporting people with cancer. In addition to providing helpful information and cancer related resources, we match patients who are going through the difficult time of chemotherapy with "Angels". The function of these Angels is - through little notes, cards and occasional small gifts - to bring a bit of cheer and encouragement.
